Perma Patch Cold Mix Asphalt

McAsphalt Perma Patch technology allows asphalt producers, road construction and maintenance companies to produce their own high quality, all-weather cold patch using their local ingredients (aggregate, bitumen, diesel), without any modifications to their existing asphalt producing equipment. All that is needed is 1-1.5 kg of Perma-Patch concentrate, supplied from Toronto, Canada.

Cold Patch is a ready to use, pre-mixed bituminous mixture manufactured from selected aggregates, bitumen and a co-polymerization process which creates a viscuous binding material for permanent repairs of potholes, utility cuts and cracks.

Applications of Cold Mix Asphalt

McAsphalt Perma Patch is completely adaptable to all paving equipment. However, it may be easily installed using a shovel and simple compaction. This long-lasting material has a 2-year storage life in uncovered stockpiles outdoors and indefinite life in bags, palls or drums. It is an ideal pavement product for streets, highways, airport runways, and parking areas and is instantly ready for traffic flow after paving.

McAsphalt Perma Patch is a year-round all-weather road repair technology, can be used at temperatures of -30 °С to +49 °С both on extremely cold winter days and will perform just as well on hot and rainy days.
McAsphalt Perma Patch is a uniquely designed paving material that offers a wide range of road and street repair applications, specifically designed to endure the most severe weather conditions.
McAsphalt Perma Patch does not require emulsion tack coat and can be resurfaced or overlaid due to its compatible materials and its durable components.
McAsphalt Perma Patch will enable your pavement maintenance personnel to complete a wide range of repairs. The permanent repair to potholes, wide cracks, utility cuts, road edging and emergency road construction create a universal and flexible material for use in your road maintenance budget.

LIFETIME PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE

McAsphalt Perma Patch when applied according to our directions to deteriorated concrete or bituminous pavement surfaces, is guaranteed to adhere permanently to the repaired area for the life of the repair or until the surrounding pavement area fails.

Breakdown of materials used to produce 1000 kg of Perma-Patch Cold Mix Asphalt

* Actual material content may change depending on the locally selected ingredients

Cantat Associates Inc. presents a complete technology of production of cold mix asphalt using locally selected ingredients (aggregate, bitumen, diesel), allowing producers to minimize raw material costs and maximize their profits. The mix design, prepared at our research centre in Toronto, Canada, will present manufacturers a complete formula for producing cold mix asphalt using their local ingredients, with only a small addition of the Perma Patch concentrate.

The exact formula for production of cold patch, is determined based on the quality of the aggregate material, at the McAsphalt Industries Limited Research Centre in Canada.

Quality Control and Professional Training

As part of our special Quality Assurance Program, Cantat Associates Inc. and McAsphalt Industries LTD will provide staff training and certification to your local professionals at the McAsphalt Industries LTD Research Centre in Toronto, Ontario. This will not only allow your experts to independently conduct Quality Control of Perma Patch Cold Mix Asphalt, but also provide them with the necessary skills to educate other specialists the Quality Control procedures and requirements.

* An integral part of the QC procedure is the VT-04F viscotester

Cold Mix bagging machine 6t – 9t per hour:
The bagging machine is designed to package asphalt mix into polyethylene bags. Each bag can contain 25 – 30 kg. The machine hopper is loaded using a front loader. The hopper is equipped with a screw conveyor, used both as a feeder and agitator for the consolidated asphalt mix. In a uniform flow, the screw conveyor feeds the asphalt mix through a diverter valve into a chute (optionally into two chutes), for alternate discharge into bags. The production capacity is controlled via a variable frequency drive, which regulates the rotation speed of the screw conveyor. A weighing platform is located at the discharge station to monitor the batch weight. Lower and upper weight limits are set via the control panel. A slow discharge rate is automatically engaged for product top-up. Once the desired weight has been reached, the feed stops. The operator switches the diverter valve to the other chute and fills the next bag. Feed is switched on or off via push button controllers, installed in both operators’ stations. Once filled, the bag is moved to the roller table-mounted heat sealing facility.

Bagging machine specifications:

Production capacity: 200 – 300 bags per hour, respectively 6t – 9t per hour depending on the operating personnel;
Heavy duty steel construction;
Frame supports: bolted to floor area;
Gear motor drive;
Feed hopper;
Double-chute discharge;
Control panel (incl. frequency-changing circuit, batching processor);
Weighing platform;
Heat-sealing facility;

Production time – 45 days

Cantat Associates Inc. offers Cold Patch producers high quality and fully customizable plastic bags, based on their personal and market requirements. The bags have been developed based on our deep understanding of the packaging requirements, designed to maximize shelf life without allowing the asphalt mix to conglomerate, maintaining high workability for 25+ years in a wide range of storage temperatures.

Our side weld bags are available in a wide variety of sizes and capacities - 22.7 kg (50 lb), 25 kg, 30 kg, etc.

Single polyethylene layer thickness - 152 µm (6 mil)

Polyethylene film structure: coextrusion with diagonally oriented fibers forming film reinforcement (for increased strength).

Laminated inner layer - black color, outer layer - white color.

Anti-scratch surface.

Print on both sides of the bag. Number of print colors - based on customer requirements.

Options and customizations to consider:

- Reinforced carrying handle

- Custom design based on customer preferences and requirements (or you may use our own highly popular bag design!)

The VT-04F is a compact, single-cylinder type rotating viscotester designed for easy use in the field. It is used for high viscosity measurement. A rotor turning at constant speed is inserted into the liquid to be measured. The resistance to rotor movement caused by the viscosity is measured using a special mechanism to obtain direct readings in decipascal-seconds (dPa•s). Three different types of rotors are supplied, covering a wide range of applications.
